About
Setting the Standard in Custom Composite Solutions
Company History
Nestled in the foothills of the Laurel Mountains in Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, CK Composites has been providing industry-leading composite materials and engineering solutions since 1985. The company’s roots trace back to the 1950s when the European firm Permali Composites expanded into the North American market by establishing a manufacturing plant for its innovative wood composite materials and products. Over time, CK Composites expanded its capabilities, adding epoxy molding and filament winding to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of insulation solutions. With decades of expertise and continuous development, CK Composites has grown into a vertically integrated provider of custom-engineered composite solutions.
Combining Expertise with Cutting-Edge Technology
In 2024, CK Composites embarked on the largest capital expansion in its history, anchored by the installation of the industry’s most advanced Automated Pressure Gelation (APG) equipment. This transformative technology dramatically enhances scale and efficiency within our cast resin operations, integrating state-of-the-art production methods with CK’s deep-rooted expertise in material science and electrical insulation. This strategic investment positions CK Composites as a premier U.S.-based supplier, delivering top-tier components from the heart of Western Pennsylvania’s manufacturing hub— a region deeply rooted in manufacturing excellence.
Our products make today’s technology work.
From data centers to national defense, CK Composites’ products serve a wide array of electrical and mechanical needs. The common thread is our ability to apply advanced material science to solve complex insulation challenges. CK Composites’ customers trust our extensive expertise in electrical, mechanical, and polymer engineering to support the design, development, and testing of new and/or improved products. While we excel in high-volume manufacturing, we are equally adept at producing small-batch and custom orders to meet unique client requirements.
